Hello My Name Is...
Michael Kraus

Michael Kraus is a native Oklahoman. Prior to earning a Masters Degree in Spanish
Literature at the University in Norman, he spent a semester immersed in Spanish
language and culture as an exchange student at the Autonomous University of
Guadalajara, in Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2003, Mr Kraus won a scholarship to
attend a program for educators at the Universidad de Alcalá in Alcalá de
Henares, Spain, further expanding his experience of Spanish culture. As a
result of these educational experiences and other visits to Central and South
America, he firmly believes travel offers one a unique opportunity to gain a
clear perspective of one’s own country and culture.
Among his interests are travel, urban architecture, foreign
films, reading nonfiction and huapangueros.
He has excellent taste in fine consumer goods, but alas, as your
teacher, he will never make a large enough salary to buy what he deserves.
Speaking of teaching, students would be well advised to be
attentive, courteous and intelligent. Occasional goofiness will be tolerated,
however rudeness will not sit well in his classroom. He gets grouchy when
students don't turn in homework on time. Students should also understand a busy
and demanding life outside of academia will at times delay the return of their
graded work. They should learn to live with this, as it will make life so much
easier for all
concerned.
Mr Kraus is a serious fan of regular people who make heroic choices. Be one of those people.
